About Me
Welcome to *Sleep Well Sleep Easy*! I’m Lorne Cooper, and I’m thrilled to share my journey with you—a journey marked by sleepless nights, relentless fatigue, and the pursuit of restful, rejuvenating sleep.
My story began about 13 years ago when my life took a significant turn. Before having children, I was a sound sleeper, drifting off easily and waking up refreshed. However, everything changed with the arrival of my first child. Along with the joys and challenges of parenthood, I experienced a cascade of sleep-related issues that have evolved over the years.
It all started with a touch of sympathy weight gain during my wife’s pregnancy. Shortly after our daughter was born, I began snoring, leading my wife to adopt earplugs as a nightly routine. As a result, I became the designated listener for the baby monitor, a role that turned me into a chronic light sleeper. My daughter’s struggles with sleep only compounded the situation, leading to a relentless cycle of fatigue.
Fast forward 13 years and three children later, and I found myself caught in a web of poor sleep and weight gain. I was tested for sleep apnea and discovered I had a mild case, along with a deviated septum. Each night brought a new challenge—pain and discomfort from my side-sleeping habits, frequent back twists, knee pain, hip pain, and an increasing sensitivity to light and sound. I also battled vivid, disturbing dreams that left me feeling even more exhausted upon waking.
Through all these trials, I’ve learned the importance of being deliberate and mindful about my sleep. I’ve experimented with various solutions, from adjusting my sleep environment to exploring new sleep aids and techniques. This blog, *Sleep Well Sleep Easy*, is a reflection of my personal quest for better sleep and a place to share the strategies, insights, and solutions I’ve discovered along the way.
If you find yourself in a similar struggle, I hope my experiences and findings can guide you toward a better night’s sleep. Together, we can explore ways to overcome sleep challenges and embrace a more restful, rejuvenating experience. Thank you for joining me on this journey—here’s to sleeping well and sleeping easy!
